What does clean water mean to me?

St. Croix CURES Youth Clean Water Poster Entry

Clean water doesn’t just happen—it’s protected by people who care.
Your poster is your voice. What will you say?”

“What Does Clean Water Mean to Me?”

We want to inspire children and youth to understand, value, and protect clean water in the St. Croix Watershed—including rivers, lakes, and groundwater—through creative expression and environmental awareness. We created a Clean Water Poster Entry to hear the voice of the generations that come after us.

Entrys will be displayed at events, posted on social media, websites, used in educational campaigns and signage to promote clean water awareness.

Entry Categories:

  • Early Elementary: Grades K-2

  • Upper Elementary: Grades 3–5

  • Middle School: Grades 6–8

  • High School: Grades 9–12

  • Homeschool and ungraded students use the general grade category for their age.

“What Does Clean Water Mean to Me?”

Additional prompts to consider:

  • Where does your drinking water come from—and how can we protect it?

  • What happens when pollution enters our rivers, lakes, or groundwater?

  • How can families, farmers, and communities work together to protect clean water?

  • What would the St. Croix River look like if we don’t take care of it?

  • What actions can YOU take to keep our water clean?

  • What lives in clean water—and what happens when it becomes polluted?
